‘Kirra Court’   2014

Handcoloured Linoprint on paper
27.5cm x 37.5cm
Limited edition of 25

4 Lord Street, Coolangatta.
The yellow handrails and retro typography on this block of units always makes me smile, and it had to be included in this series. I hope to always see examples of this architecture on the Gold Coast.

‘Jan’s Place’   2014

Linoprint on paper
55cm x 75cm
Limited edition of 20

Burrows Street, Biggera Waters.
A close friend’s house which features blonde brick and a beautiful breezeblock carport. The Poinciana tree frames the view to the canal perfectly. I substituted a more period correct vehicle and neighbouring houses in the final artwork.

‘Fishing Trip’   2014

Linoprint on paper
37.5cm x 27.5cm
Limited edition of 25

Inspired by a friend’s Bondwood van, I imagine this one being the base for a great weekend of fishing and yarns.

‘Eleven Coolangatta Road’   2014

Handcoloured Linoprint on paper
27.5cm x 37.5cm
Limited edition of 25

Palm trees and breezeblocks says ‘old Gold Coast’ to me. This series of works was inspired by a walk around Kirra after visiting a favourite local café.

‘Development Potential’ 2014

Linoprint on paper
55cm x 75cm
Limited edition of 20

231 Pacific Parade, Bilinga.
Admired for many years, and my ‘if I win Lotto house’, I found it for Auction when I went to photograph it in preparation for this block. I also saw with dismay, the sales pitch.

‘Christmas 1969’   2014

Linoprint on paper
37.5cm x 27.5cm
Limited edition of 25

Don and Pam holidayed at the Palm Beach Caravan Park in 1969 with their only daughter (at the time) Donna. This park and the one at Magic Mountain were favourites until a decision was made to start holidaying at Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast due to the increased traffic on the Gold Coast. The family still holidays there to this day, and the rest of their family joins them also. Wonderful memories.

‘Blonde Beauty’   2014

Linoprint on paper
55cm x 75cm
Limited edition of 20

Cnr Marine Parade and Chairlift Avenue, Nobby’s Beach.
I love the way this property ‘steps back’ around the corner block, with the units all having ocean views. When I went back more recently to take my photos to work from, another unit had sold, and I wondered who would be enjoying living there now.

‘Bilinga Fibro’   2014

Linoprint on paper
55cm x 75cm
Limited edition of 20

232 Pacific Parade, Bilinga.
If you asked me what epitomised a beach holiday, a pale blue fibro beach house framed by a Pandanus tree would be it. I give you my ultimate beach shack.

’29 Winston St’   2014

Handcoloured Linoprint on paper
27.5cm x 37.5cm
Limited edition of 25

I took the photo for this print many years ago after a day at the ‘Wintersun’ carnival. The frangipani tree against the fibro flats said ‘holiday house’ to me, and the scent of their flowers reminds me of summer.

‘Always Sunny’   2014

Handcoloured Linoprint on paper
21.5cm x 15.5cm
Limited edition of 20

54 Twenty Seventh Avenue, Palm Beach.
I see this house every time I visit a close friend, and I would love to live there. Sunny yellow trims, fresh white paint, a pandanus tree and breezeblocks. It is an immaculately cared for home which is obviously treasured for its unique charm.
