La Costa Motel opposite the Gold Coast Airport was built in the 1950s and was nominated as one of the original ‘Highway Heritage’ motels of the Gold Coast. Owners John and Diane Cartmill purchased it over 12 years ago from previous owner Coral Halley who lived upstairs until she was quite elderly.  She had managed La Costa for over 30 years taking overnight and holiday guests.  I love the retro architecture and mint paint scheme.
