Another vehicle I have owned in the past, a 1962 VW split windscreen Kombi. This is parked at Main Beach on Queensland’s Gold Coast, as we cruised around one Sunday. It never failed to elicit smiles and waves as we drove around, and when stopped we always heard stories of other people’s fond experiences with them. They have such character.

I have a collection of these retro lawn chairs, though they are becoming more difficult to find. I like to think there are not very many left due to them being thoroughly used over the years at many wonderful days at the beach.
